The book Cooking on Fire
The art of cooking over an open fire: ancient, adventurous, and delicious

Cooking over an open fire is one of the oldest cooking methods we know. The coffee table book Cooking on Fire brings this traditional way of cooking to life with a collection of diverse recipes and practical tips.

For everyone who loves the charm of fire
For a long time, cooking over an open fire was seen as something for scouts or survival experts. But this cooking style is for everyone. It's sensual, calming, and invites you to take your time. Cooking over fire isn't just about the food, but also about the process – from lighting the fire to preparing the dishes.

This photo book offers a mix of simple classics, such as Chili con Carne and roasted chestnuts, and more challenging dishes that require time and patience. Discover how to build a campfire, what cooking techniques you can apply, what tools are useful, and how to get the most out of your campfire.

A culinary journey back to nature
The authors, Eva and Nicolai Tram, have a background in the gastronomic world and food media. In 2017, they left Copenhagen to live a simpler life with their family in the Swedish forests. There, they discovered their passion for cooking over fire. This passion was translated into Cooking on Fire, a book full of inspiration to relax by the flames and enjoy nature.

From book to award-winning restaurant
After the publication of Cooking on Fire in 2020, Eva and Nicolai opened the restaurant Knystaforsen, where campfire cooking is central. In 2022, the restaurant received a Michelin star and a Michelin Green Star for sustainability.

Cook, relax, enjoy the flames, and rediscover the essence of food with Cooking on Fire.
