René’s passion for photography began at an early age. At twelve, he won his first photography competitions, and in 1966 he started as a freelance photographer, laying the foundation for René Staud Photography. In 1975, at the age of 24, he opened his first studio in Stuttgart and began specializing in automotive photography. Thanks to his unique style and the proximity of luxury car manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, his studio flourished.

Since 1986, in his dream studio in Leonberg, René Staud has created countless iconic images recognized worldwide. It's not just the automotive industry that appreciates his work; the publisher teNeues has also celebrated his photographic art for over ten years with stunning photo books such as The Porsche 911 Book, The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Book, and The Aston Martin Book, all of which have become bestsellers.
