About the author
Pierre-André Schmitt (born in 1958) is a Swiss journalist with an impressive career of over 40 years in the media. From 2017 to 2023, he was editor-in-chief and co-owner of the renowned watch magazine Watch Around. In addition, he has been writing about watches for over two decades for publications including the prestigious Swiss business magazine Bilanz, where he also served as deputy editor-in-chief.
Before his work in the watch world, Schmitt was editor-in-chief of the Schweizer Automobil-Revue, Europe's oldest automotive magazine. He also held the position of deputy editor-in-chief at the Swiss news magazine Facts. His passion for watches and his journalistic acuity make him an authority in the field of horological art, and his eye for detail is beautifully expressed in this exceptional book about Longines.
