Essie Sakhai, born in Iran into a family with a long tradition in Persian carpets, is a respected expert in this field. He inherited his extensive knowledge from his father and continues the family tradition with his gallery Essie Carpets in the heart of Mayfair, London. Sakhai shares his passion through lectures, interviews, and publications, including The Story of Carpets and The Fabric of Life.
Co-author Jonathan Wadsworth has over 40 years of experience as a specialist in European, Persian, and Oriental carpets. As former director of Sotheby's Europe and head of their carpet department, he has led numerous auctions and worked as a consultant for leading auction houses. He has also given lectures worldwide on the cultural and commercial value of Persian carpets and was featured as a specialist on the BBC show The Great Antiques Hunt.
